Welcome to Oh, My Stars! Productions
Oh, My Stars! Productions is a LGBTQ+ focused performance troupe, but everyone is welcome! Dedicated to the preservation of camp & drag performance styles in scripted theatrical productions in the Madison, Wisconsin and surrounding areas.
OMS!P was created by Scott Albert Bennett (a.k.a. Taffeta Darling... if you get the 'Young Frankenstein' reference...), who has been doing theatre since... *ahem*...let's just say their teen years... and has a BA in Theatre from UW-Stevens Point & an MFA in Acting from UW-Madison. Scott has been a voice/acting TA at UW-Madison, a director/teacher for CTM summer drama school, and has served on several local theatre boards - as VP of StageQ & President of Strollers Theatre Ltd.
After years of traveling to other Midwest cities and attending campy-fun theatrical productions featuring drag & genderfluid casting, Scott thought, "Golly gee, I wish we had something like that here in Madison.... *light bulb*... Hey! I should do it!"
(time-lapse thought process there)
The first two OMS!P shows were co-productions. Scott appeared as Nicodemus Underwood / Lady Enid Hillcrest / Alcazar in Charles Ludlam's The Mystery of Irma Vep in October 2023, a co-production with OMS!P and Strollers Theatre (now known as Madison Public Theatre). Next, Scott directed Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song in February 2024, a co-production with OMS!P and StageQ, Madison's Queer Theatre. In January 2025, OMS!P's inaugural solo production - The Stops by Eric Lane Barnes & Drew Emery will debut at The Bartell Theatre just off "The Square" in downtown Madison!
